2014-11-11 (Tu) Arduino Laser Tag

A PVC enclosure with a 3/4" hole and 3/4" PVC couplers were purchased. The necessary length of the barrel should be reduced to 45mm, plus half of a modified coupler minus the distance the parts go into the enclosure. Another enclosure was considered which has two 3/4" holes facing the same direction. This could be used to make a double barreled design for two differently focused IR LEDs, or a visible light emitter next to the IR emitter or simply a tube to hole a laser emitter.

A surplus pistol harness was connected to one of the wooden vest platforms. Swivel clips were attached to two 1/4-20 bolts. Padding will be necessary since the platform can bang against the spine while running.

  • Draft schematics
  • Design screen mount
  • Create vest mount for controller, battery, and terminal strip
  • Build another test unit
  • Make instructions for all parts
